The Reindeer Bus 2010...

They came practically right to our front door!

December means daddy gets to drive Santa and Mrs Claus around on the Reindeer bus.

This year I took my friend Isaiah and my baby ister Clara.

Clara seems to like Santa!

This is the real Santa, not like the one at the mall.

Daddy is also known as Sparky the Elf.  He only gets to be an elf at Christmas otherwise he is just daddy.

Clara was exhausted after meeting Santa.

We love to read...

We love to read in our house and Clara is learning to listen well to stories. I even read to her when mummy and daddy are busy.

Clara's Blessing...

Since kids in our church aren't baptized until the age of 8, when they are babies, they are given a blessing so that their name will be on the records of the church.
Sunday, December 5th was Clara's blessing day.
She was also two months old on that day. I think she is old enough now for me to show her how to blog, so I'll let her take over the rest of this post.

Elsie is a good big sister. We have fun and she teaches me many things, like blogging.

This is Elsie with my cousin Ella.

This is everybody. I got to meet my Aunt Liz and Uncle Luke for the first time.

I like being in this family!

The big girls take good care of me!

I think my youngest cousin has issues with me. For awhile he wouldn't let his mom hold me and now he is hiding behind his sister.

There he is in his cute bow tie .

This is the 150 year old Strachan blessing/christening gown. Elsie wore it too.

Today was a good day!

This is the slip that Granny made for me to wear under the gown.

That is a very interesting wall beside me!

Teaching traditions...

One of the really fun things about having a baby sister is introducing her to all our family traditions. One of the first events of the Christmas season is decorating Granny's tree.

This year we made our first attempt on Monday night, Nov. 29th, but there were light issues that even daddy couldn't fix.

Our second attempt was Friday Dec 3rd and all was merry and bright.
(Granny fixed the lights)

Everyone takes turns.

Everyone has fun!

Even if we look a little distressed.

Clara had fun too!

We forgot to take a picture of the finished tree but it looked good!

Snow Day 2010

It snowed! Yippee!! That morning I went out to shovel with daddy and then later in the day after mummy's dentist appointment, I ventured out again. This time without my snow pants.
I was standing in the garage after I got out of the car admiring the snow. I said, "mummy can I go?" Mummy said "yes". A few seconds later mummy looked up and I was on the ground making a snow angel!

Clara's first snow fall. She's sleeping again!!

I even did a little more shovelling.

Elsie making snow angels and Clara thinking about it.

Daddy's Train...

Back in October I took my baby Clara to see Daddy's train.
This is me hanging out with the old streetcar.

Mummy and Clara on the streetcar.

Of course I have to wear my train clothes!

We all wore our train clothes!

I'm not sure why Clara kept sleeping, it's far too bumpy a ride to sleep.

Poor mummy doesn't have any train clothes. (Oh and Clara woke up)

Daddy was happy that Clara got to see the streetcar, he wasn't sure if it would run this year.

The nice new platform (left over from the Olympic streetcar)!

The nice old train!

Elsie the engineer.
