Nap time....

My mommy couldn't resist taking these pictures of me sleeping because I'm so cute. This is one of my favourite places to nap, either when mommy is in the shower or after daddy leaves for work and mommy and I are still sleeping.

Mommy's birthday...

Friday, July 20th, 2007 - My mom's 35th birthday. Doesn't she look young for her age? ;)
Daddy and I had fun shopping. This is the present I gave mommy. It's a new wallet. She said it was exactly what she wanted. I'm pretty good, if I do say so myself.

We read the cards together.

Let's get this present open.
My aunt Lisa and my cousins Max, Sam and Ella made some wonderful cupcakes for mommy. Thanks guys! I'll have to get you to show me how someday.

Blowing out candles is always an event. I'll have to get my cousins to show me how to do that too.
I love it when Ella holds me.

I love it when Max tries to make me laugh. I love it when Sam reminds everyone to give me my soother when I cry.

More Trains....

I'm just hanging out in my engineer's outfit waiting for the City of Vancouver to get it's act together and finish building the carbarn, so the Downtown Historic Railway can open. I want to see my daddy drive one of the trolleys.

This is my daddy in 2004 with the trolley.

The Rocky Mountaineer....

On Saturday, June 14th, 2007 I saw my first train! I also had my first Skytrain and bus ride. Daddy was very excited for me. He loves trains and buses. The Rocky Mountaineer open house was pretty cool but very noisy. The train whistle kept startling me and mommy (it reminds her too much of living in Maple Ridge).

The Skytrain ride was fun! The line-up to see the engine wasn't so much fun but we know daddy wanted to see it, especially since he hasn't been able to drive his trolleys yet this year, which makes him sad.

This train seems awfully tiny.

Elsie's First Road Trip....

Friday July 6th, 2007 - We picked daddy up at work then took off for Seattle. We got away early enough that the border wasn't too bad. We had to stop at a rest area so mommy could feed me.

I got a whole queen sized bed to myself!!!!!!!

The Seattle Temple grounds are beautiful. I can't wait until I'm older and can go inside, though I'm more excited about the fact that in a couple of years I'll be able to tour the Vancouver Temple in Langley.

Canada Day....

July 1st, 2007 - Today, Elsie was given a "name and a blessing" by her daddy at church. That's what we do since we don't baptize children until the age of eight. Babies are given a blessing in front of the congregation and it essentially is to create a record of the child for church records. Though since it is Canada Day, Elsie did take some time to unwind and wear her Canada Day outfit. It was also her mom and dad's anniversary...three years and counting. The Christening gown is about one hundred years old or more. It was given to John's Grandma Strachan by a very close family friend. Elsie is a very lucky little girl to have such history in her outfit. My mom made a slip to wear under it.
