July 1st, 2007 - Today, Elsie was given a "name and a blessing" by her daddy at church. That's what we do since we don't baptize children until the age of eight. Babies are given a blessing in front of the congregation and it essentially is to create a record of the child
for church records. Though since it is Canada Day, Elsie did take some time to unwind and wear her Canada Day outfit. It was also her mom and dad's anniversary...three years and counting. The Christening gown is about one hundred years old or more. It was given to John's Grandma Strachan by a very close family friend. Elsie is a very lucky little girl to have such history in her outfit. My mom made a slip to wear under it.
