Summer misadventures...

I had a lot of fun this summer and learned many new things.I discovered that I like eating crayons a lot!

I like sprinklers and hoses.

I became an underwear model...

and a tattoo artist.

Markers go on your skin so well.

I'm learning to use the potty...

and get marshmallows for my efforts.

I can put furniture together that mummy took apart.

I can garden in the house!!!

Summer '09 has been the best yet!!!

Way back in July, mummy signed me up for something called Sporty 2's. We got together with a bunch of kids at a park and played different sports. I had a lot of fun. Here are some videos. Of course I usually did better when mummy was beside me encouraging me but this day she was filming, so I was more interested in watching everybody else.

Finally...

On our second trip to Bowen, I was finally able to get in the pool.

This is also my first time in a deep pool with water wings instead of a life jacket.

I've been here before...

It feels like I've sat here before...
Let me think...that' right...

"I wet you!"

I really like it when daddy cooks on the BBQ because I get to go outside and play with the hose. These are pictures of the first time I had fun with water. Here I'm making my own lake.

I'm cleaning the chair.

It needs a good shower.

My red chair needs a shower too.

I would also chase daddy and say, "I wet you!"
We tried to post a video of that but they were all too big.

Bowen Island (the rest of the trip)...

After all the excitement at our arrival, things calmed down and we had a good weekend. I got to try out my new chair.
We had good food!

We celebrated mummy's birthday!

I got to help open the presents.

Mummy's new gardening stool.

I played ping pong with daddy. I let him win a few times.

We also went to the beach and I had fun playing in the ocean but we forgot to take the camera with us.

Mother Nature's Surprise...

(Elsie gave mummy permission to write this entry)
We spent the past weekend at the family cabin on Bowen Island. Elsie and I arrived on Friday afternoon and as I walked into the living room I glanced out the sliding door to the deck. My brain knew immediately that something wasn't right but it took a few seconds of processing to realize...

...that normally the table isn't upside down on the railing of the deck.

My first thought was that Nancy and Barney had needed it out of the way for some reason. (I found out later they hadn't made it up the previous week.) So I stepped outside to take a closer look and...

discovered this!

The deck was covered in tree debris. Then I looked up...

A branch had fallen on the roof and broken in three. Most of it was on the roof, part of it was on the deck and a small piece of it was on the ground below the deck. I went back inside to call my mom but then thought about the umbrella...

It was still attached!

The table landed on the hose, which is wrapped around the railing, and I think that is what held it there.

This picture is taken from down below.

This table truly is indestructible !

This is the branch that came off the roof. Almost twice the size of John (6'2").
